Spotlight/Glowsticks

Tonight I placed glow sticks in a tree in our backyard with the following poem attached.

Spotlight

flames flicker from candlelit hallways

floodlights above bridges; streetlights near driveways

sunrays stretch; peak above the horizon

following twinkles from star clusters and glowing crescent moons

rooms with logs burning inside fireplaces

flashlights lingering in the most dyre places

without you - darkness

your very presence resonates; nothing like your essence

life is a stage; you are the spotlight
