What's that light blinking over there?

Tonight after we put Cameron to bed I had all of the lights turned out and when MK came out of his room the was blinking lights in the dinning room. She walked over and found and blinking heart with a stuffed bear on top.

MK's reply. Don't lie

This was MK's surprise today.

Homework

Cameron has a homework assignment every night and tonight was to write down his favorite season and why. He said his was summer because he can go to the pool. When MK came home after work I told her that Cameron finished his homework and to take a look. Beneath his sheet of paper was my own homework assignment. I wrote my favorite thing is... you because you are amazing in every way. It took her a second to get it because I used the same paper and copied Cameron's handwriting. She liked it. Very Good ++

No Kiss

Wednesday (I believe) is exactly half way through these 365 days and on this day, no romance. No k.i.s.s. but for good reason. Eliza became sick on Sat. and for the past several days has become unable to hold anything down. Finally her pediatrician told us to take her to the ER. We ended up at the Emergency Room at 8:45 and didn't leave until 3:30. Eliza seems to be doing a little bit better but is still far from her normal self. So no romance on this day. Just taking care of our baby girl.

Knocked Out by your I Love You

When we were laying down for bed I took a label and stuck it to the side of my pajama sleeve. I put my arm around Eliza (sleep between us because she's sick) and was hoping MK would see the label. However, after a minute or so I realized MK was knocked out. So I took the label and put it on her pillow and when she woke up there was a note stuck to her pillow which said: I LOVE YOU

You light my fire :)

Tonight when MK was getting ready for bed I lit a candle for her. Nothing too special except the holder illuminates decorative heart when the candle is lit.

Road Trip...get cozy

We left today to go to Sanford, NC (area) to see my grandmother and my mom's side of the family. We have a birthday celebration for her every year and this is the first one that all four of us has been to. So when we were packing up I threw a little something in her seat for the road. I was a small pillow in the shape of (you guessed it) a heart.

Sticker Note

Coffee Mug Hug

My mom and sister are visiting with us and we made coffee for all of us. MK went to grab a mug from the cabinet and their was a new mug sitting their for her. The mug has hearts all over it and I attached a note to it. The note said: There is one condition before using this mug, you must first give me a kiss or hug.

Bedside Balloon

Tonight I left an I Love You balloon on MK's bedside side table. She actually fell asleep before she saw it but it was there when she woke up

Cute Little Clearance Bear

The best time to pick up Valentine's gifts is....after Valentine's day. I love it. You can pick up all that cheezy stuff for next to nothing. So I picked up a talking stuffed bear. When MK was in bed I squeezed the bear and it said: (pucker kiss noise) I love you.

Grabbed the Silicone

Today I grabbed MK by the hand and placed a pink silicone bracelet on it. The bracelet said: kiss me

Light Up My Hearts

I picked up some christmas type heart shaped lights today and laid them out for MK. I asked her if she would pick up in the playroom. Our playroom is a loft and when she looked over into the foyer there were the lights lit up.

Be mine

MK went to her girls dinner tonight so I decided to put some valentine (gel) decals on the car. So when she left for her get together, on the drivers side window were the decals. Love, be mine, hearts etc.

My rambling -
Be mine. You see the two word phrase quite a bit during valentine's season. Is it a question or a statement. Is it be mine, will you please. Or is it be mine, you better or else i'm going to be pissed. Isn't it too possessive to be effectively sweet. Kinda like a guy telling his girlfriend to get a tattoo of his name on her. No matter how good the ink looks it's still some dudes name on your body.

New Secret

Backstory: Cameron (today is his birthday) is a big boy now so it's hard sometimes to get him to give hugs. In order to get a hug from him I trick him. I tell him that i've got a secret to tell him. His reply: no, not again. Is this a new secret. Yes, I tell him. The truth is that it's always the same. He inches close and I get right next to him like i'm going to whisper something (new) in his ear. Then all of a sudden, I grab him and hug him. Then I tell him "I love you". I have done this probably 100 times and he still falls for it. It's great.

I sent MK a message today. The title: I've got a secret for you. Message: I love you.
Works everytime.

It's Snowing

Tonight I gave MK the most amazing, fantastic, super, grand, gift ever. A miniature snow globe with a bear holding an I Love You sign.

You can't go wrong with roses

Tonight I brought home a dozen roses for MK.

Should I feel weird when picking up flowers? It's crazy but I feel like when I buy flowers people look at me like I did something wrong or somebody is sick. Maybe it's me, maybe i'm just delusional. But while I was walking to the car with roses in hand an older women made a comment to me and made me think. She said: those should get you some points. I replied: I know, I better stack them up in case I need them. Is that it? Is it a point system. I thought it was suppose to be a system of love. A constant outward show of the way you feel on the inside to the one closest to you. One thing I think I have gained from this crazy "anniversary gift" is that showing love is hard work that can be made easy. The little love notes matter, the unexpected cards mean alot, and the simplest things with a little thought touch the heart. I'm no different than any other guy. What i'm doing for my wife is not spectacular. It's just a way I have found to show her that I love her. This is my way. To anyone reading this entry my question is: what is your way?

The Love Story

I was recently checking out my cousin's new facebook page (which is funny b/c i didnt think he was the facebook type) and in his websites there is a link to a Blog he created. The blog is somewhat of journal, in it he promises to do somethiing for his wife eveyday for 365 days. He shows his appreciation for her by using simple things (cards, flowers,writing in the snow, etc.) as reminders of what she means to him, of his gratitude. Simple reminders of his love for her. Its really a beautiful blog makes me want to tell these dudes to get their game up...or maybe not, maybe this is what it is when its not a game.

As I thought about my cousin's blog I couldnt help but think of the significance of marriage as a symbol of Christ and His Chiurch. I often wonder how many married couples ever stop to meditate on this fact. The love that is in marriage as powerful, deep, and strong as it maybe, is a smaller version of what is Christ's love for His body. As beautiful as the love of a marriage may be it is only a snapshot of the love Christ has for us.

So this lead me to think of the everyday love of Christ the small things that happen in the morning and are forgotten by lunch time. The waves of peace that pass over in the midst of frustration, the green light in traffic, the free dessert, the word of encouragement, the smile.

Therefore I have decided to (like my cousin) write a note to my love, that is Christ.I want to publicly tell of His good works and His hard lessons in my life. This is my love story.

I met Christ on a Friday night in 2004. I was so excited when I first met Him, I had to take Him everywhere I went, and introduce Him to everyone I knew. Talk about guess who's coming to dinner lol. This great man took an unchurched teenager and gave me a reality check. He says to my heart "Do you know who you are?" I say "No, not really I'm 19..." He says to my heart " Do you know Who's you are"I say " I am my own....no,no I dont know." He says to my heart "Come here" I pause.... He says "Come" So I went and while I didnt know where I was going I went and He sat with me in a quiet place and begin to teach me who He is. He says to me "See you can't know who you are til you know Who's you are and then He got up and said follow me , so got up to go after Him. It was then that my love started, then that the journey begun. And as I try to come after Him He leaves love notes, flowers, writings in the sky to remind that He loves me.

I will be forever grateful for His love for me and for you.I love Him so much and as He teaches me Who's I am and I learn who I am......I realize the great I AM.

I Love Money

I met MK after work and we all went to grab a bite to eat. When we stepped to the register MK started to pull out cash to pay and I decided to contribute a dollar bill. On the dollar was written:
I wish I could give you all the money in the world, instead i'll give you a world of love.

Void if not redeemed NOW

Today I left a note for MK that said: Take this and deposit it in your (business) account. Underneath the note was a check I wrote out to MK with ONE BIG FAT KISS on the amount line. On the memo line I wrote I love you. To make it official I dated it and signed the bottom.

Look at the mouse

When MK took a break from the laptop tonight I took the opportunity to place an I Love You sticker on the mouse.
